The Essential Guides
” The Essential Guides began working with Social Media Pathways after the launch of our 3rd Essential Guide late this Spring. They have efficiently incorporated the social media needs of 100s of our diverse clients seamlessly for us from Santa Fe and Taos, to Charleston, Savannah and The Lowcountry, and from Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and Walla Walla and worked professionally with each of them to help them grasp the national, regional and local options to create effective social media entries. Whether a client has a vast experience with social media options or is a neophyte, Kalyn, Carl and their team handle each promptly, proficiently and with humor and always with honest feedback. We highly recommend them. “ – Trish Byrd – The Essential Guides

“Where do I begin? First, let me say that in this new age of technology and social networking I am just shy of being too old to understand it and certainly too busy to maintain all the aspects of keeping what we do here at Mark White Fine Art out there for everyone to see. This is where the team at Social Media Pathways comes in and dare I say to the rescue. We had been doing it in house along with everything else it takes to run a gallery. This team was referred to us by another gallery who were very happy with them. We decided to give them a try and wow are we excited about how easy it is to work with them.
Carl and Kayln are not only professional; they do everything they say they will in a timely manner. I could go on and on and on, but I will close with we could not be happier having them on our side and our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is growing as well.”
– Charles Veilleux, Gallery Director, Mark White Fine Art Gallery
“We have worked with Social Media Pathways since June of 2011. Carl and Kalyn have managed our Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, and Blog) beautifully. Our social media audience grew exponentially in the last four months and the standards on the sites have risen dramatically. We highly recommend using them to increase the visibility of your company.”
– Bonnie French, Gallery Director, Waxlander Gallery
“You guys are great – I appreciate how reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable you are. In my book you are on top of your game, and would be in any market, even LA or NYC. You are an important part of my team and great partners in building my brand and amplifying my message. Thank you for all you do.”

“Carl Gerber is a principal of Social Media Pathways, a Social Media marketing and consulting firm out of Santa Fe. As the President of Southwestern College, a small graduate school in Santa Fe, I have long been looking to find a way to “keep up with” sister/competitor institutions that have much more marketing money to spend on recruitment than we do. Through my research, I became very curious about Social Media Marketing as a tool that could help even the playing field.
So about 8 months ago, I hired Carl (and wife Kalyn) to be the Social Media consultants to Southwestern College, to get us up on Twitter, and teach us to enhance and optimize the use of our Facebook account, our College Blog (the structure of which Carl created (see http://swc.edu/blogs/category/top-news/) and other Social Media sites.
Carl brought a lot of ideas and the technical skill to implement them. We are good learners and have loads of content to share, and the capacity to share more. But we did not know where to go with it, how to use it, where to place it, and Carl has been an excellent and patient teacher in these areas with our team.
We now have a booming Social Media presence, a vibrant and exciting blog presence, and we have had three straight quarters of record enrollment. We now have the College’s highest enrollment in its 33 year history.
Now I know they trained me well at The Ohio State University, and I know they say that “correlation does not necessarily imply causation”, but behind closed doors, I am seeing causation in this case! I am attributing a huge part of our recent success to the Social Media initiative that Carl Gerber and company co-created with us. Indeed, we have an increasing body of anecdotal evidence from students who “found us” on Facebook, or in our blogs or some other Social Media venue. Remember that we are selling a$40,000 product and you have to move to New Mexico to buy it. Not the easiest sell in the world. So when I keep hearing students tell me that what they found out about us in Social Media is why they moved to Santa Fe, I am convinced and delighted. Our Board of Trustees is also delighted and imagines I am working magic on my end.
Carl has a widely diversified background and understands much more than simply the technology and marketing tools. He truly understood our unique, “niche market” school, and continues to bring value in strategies and by suggesting and interpreting new tools available in the barrage of updates and disruptive innovations that characterize the Social Media world. He is not a stereotype of a “tech guy”, but embodies the “new sensibility” and emotional intelligence called for in the Social Media revolution.
As you can no doubt tell, I recommend Carl highly, and I am so clear that engaging a professional in this area pays off many times over. Southwestern College’s future is on the ascendant, and I am in appreciation of Carl and Kalyn for their significant role in helping that happen.”

“Thank you so much Kalyn – it looks great. I’ll continue making the posts on Facebook and Twitter for the remaining of the month. It was great working with you and Carl, you are both so professional and your work is impeccable. Hopefully we can do something again in the future.
It really was a pleasure working with you.”

“Because of a posting you guys did, we sold a vase. The client has never been to our gallery and bought it after reviewing it on our website!”
